The first crew of Disciples Volunteers to serve at Tranquility Rd was from First Christian Church, Illiopolis, IL. In January of 2009, they were assigned the laborious tasks of moving sand and digging trenches, in order to prepare the site for foundation work. Disciples Volunteers were not reassigned to this home until mid-April, when a mission team from Bedford Christian Church, Bedford, VA, was tasked with hanging and finishing sheetrock. Then, in June, volunteers from Glen Oak Christian Church in Peoria, IL, installed flooring and completed a few odd jobs around the home. This family is now just weeks away from moving back into their home after waiting nearly four years.
